The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Authority of Heads of State and Government has held another Extraordinary Summit on the current situation in Burkina Faso. The Summit will be placed in Accra on February 3, 2022.
After the country's coup d'état on January 24, 2022, the Heads of State held an Extraordinary Summit on January 28, 2022. Following the Summit, the Authority dispatched an ECOWAS Committee of Chiefs of Defence Staff high-level mission to have talks with the Military Leaders.
Following that, a Joint Ministerial Mission led by the Chairperson of the Council of Ministers was dispatched to analyze the country's political situation and report to the Authority of Heads of State.
The Heads of State will consider and discuss reports from these high-level missions during the Extraordinary Summit.
